I never actually planned on doing this recipe for my site. Well, I was testing it but didn’t expect it to turn out this good (or look this good!) on my first try.
You see, I very rarely nail any of my recipes first time and I’ve gone tested them at least 2 or 3 times before putting them on my site. I don’t want to churn out recipes for the sake of content. I want to put out GOOD recipes that are easy to make and taste shit hot.
This was just a test but after plating it up and seeing how mouth watering good it looked I couldn’t help but take a snap and it sure tasted as good as it looked!
I love sweet AND spicy but don’t often have them together. I was sceptical at first but this is an explosion on the taste buds and definitely one to put in my recipe folder and think it should be in yours too.
I served it with special fried cauliflower rice (basically cauliflower rice with some egg and mixed veg!) and it was epic.
Sweet n Spicy Glazed Salmon
- 4 wild salmon fillets (approx. 140g each)
- 60 ml soy sauce (reduced salt)
- 2 Tbsp honey
- 1 Tsp apple cider vinegar
- 1 Tbsp Franks Hot Sauce
- 1 Tbsp fresh ginger, minced
- spring onions, optional garnish
Place all the ingredients in a zip lock bag and shake well
Let marinade for 1 hour or, for best result, in the fridge overnight
Remove the salmon and pan fry on a medium high heat for 2-3 minutes on each side or until cooked to your preference
Meanwhile, pour the remaining sauce from the bag into a pan, bring to a boil then reduce to a simmer until you get a honey like consistency
Serve the salmon and pour the sauce over
I actually halved this recipe and it still worked out great!
