This is an incredibly easy dish to make, I’m talking 5 minutes max! This recipe just goes to show how powerful spices and dressings can be without piling on a load of calories. Reducing the balsamic vinegar creates a lovely, thick glaze that completely changes as soon as it comes out the pan and onto the seasoned pork. The garlic and thyme are a great combination to finish off this Balsamic Pork Loin Steak.
Balsamic Pork Loin Steak
Ingredients
- 150 g pork loin steak
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 tsp died thyme
- salt & pepper, to taste
- 3 Tbsp balsamic vinegar
Instructions
-
Pre-heat a non-stick pan or heavy skillet until it is smoking hot.
-
Make sure the pork steak is at room temperature and make small slits in the fat or completely trim off. This stops the meat from curling up and high heat.
-
Season the pork on both sides with the salt, pepper, garlic and thyme.
-
Place the pork in the pan and make sure you hear a loud sizzle to sear the meat and keep the juices in. Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side.
-
Whilst the pork is cooking pour the vinegar into a separate pan over a medium heat.
-
Keep stirring the vinegar until it reduces to around a 1/4 of the original liquid. If you don't stir it will stick to the bottom!
